Men’s beaded jewelry is much different from its female counterpart. Men’s necklaces and bracelets tend to be chunkier, with a greater focus on rustic beads and other materials. With a little practice you can create your own masculine jewelry. Read more to learn how!
1
Select the appropriate beads. Keep in mind that men traditionally avoid necklaces and bracelets that are encrusted jewels or diamonds. Clay and stone beads are popular additions to men's beaded jewelry. Another popular look is the surfer necklace. To create this look, use small round beads attached to a long thin string or rope.
2
Test to make sure the beads and thread work well together. This will require not only that the rope is thin enough to fit through each hole, but that it is strong enough to prevent sagging when the jewelry is being worn.
3
Choose the order of the beads. Line the beads appropriately and start to slide each bead onto the necklace. Make a large knot at one end so the beads stay securely in place. Incorporate additional knots to add a unique pattern to the order of beads. This will also add stability to the necklace or bracelet as a whole.
4
Attach a clasp to each end of the string. Once you have placed all the beads on the necklace or bracelet attach a clasp to each end of the string to ensure the jewelry stays in place.
